
Dr. Shrikant Komawar

Dr. Shrikant Komawar, born on 5th February 1957, is an accomplished academician, legal scholar, researcher, and administrator with 37 years of teaching and research experience. He holds B.Sc., LL.M., and Ph.D. qualifications and has guided 10 Ph.D. scholars and supervised 250 LL.M. dissertations.
He has held several key academic and administrative positions, including Principal, Nagpur University’s College of Law, Controller of Examinations, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Director of the Board of College & University Development, and Coordinator of IGNOU’s Study Centre.
Dr. Komawar has authored a book on the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, implemented a World Bank Project on Capacity Building in Environmental Laws, and organized national-level moot court competitions, seminars, and human rights training programmes.
He has also contributed significantly to university policy development, including Research and Intellectual Property Rights policies, and promoted innovative initiatives such as Preamble Park. His contributions to legal education, research, administration, and institutional development are highly commendable.
