सूर्यदत्त विधी महाविद्यालयातर्फे बावधनमध्ये मतदान जागृती
आर्ट ऑफ लिव्हिंग फाउंडेशनच्या सहकार्याने शिक्षक व विद्यार्थ्यांकडून मतदान करण्याची शपथ
पुणे: विधानसभा निवडणुकीत मतदानाचा टक्का वाढावा आणि लोकशाही अधिक सक्षम व्हावी, यासाठी सूर्यदत्त ग्रुप ऑफ इन्स्टिट्यूट्समध्ये मतदान जागृती अभियान राबविण्यात आले. सूर्यदत्त एज्युकेशन फाऊंडेशन संचालित सूर्यदत्त विधी महाविद्यालय पुणे आणि आर्ट ऑफ लिव्हिंग फाउंडेशन यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने ‘सूर्यदत्त’च्या बावधन कॅम्पसमध्ये मतदान जागृती कार्यक्रम झाला. मतदानाचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित करणे आणि विद्यार्थ्यांना आगामी निवडणुकीत सक्रियपणे सहभागी होण्यासाठी प्रेरित करणे हा या कार्यक्रमाचा उद्देश होता.
सूर्यदत्त एज्युकेशन फाउंडेशनचे संस्थापक अध्यक्ष प्रा. डॉ. संजय बी. चोरडिया यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली आयोजित कार्यक्रमात सूर्यदत्त एज्युकेशन फाउंडेशनच्या सहयोगी उपाध्यक्षा स्नेहल नवलखा, सूर्यदत्त विधी महाविद्यालयाच्या प्राचार्या श्रीमती केतकी बापट, राज्यशास्त्राचे सहायक प्राध्यापक विजयदीप मुंजनकर, आर्ट ऑफ लिव्हिंग फाऊंडेशनचे नुपूर सिंग, सोनिया रजत यांच्यासह विद्यार्थी व शिक्षक-शिक्षकेतर कर्मचारी उपस्थित होते.
प्रा. डॉ. संजय बी. चोरडिया म्हणाले, “सूर्यदत्त एज्युकेशन फाऊंडेशनने आपल्या एज्यु-सोशियो उपक्रमांद्वारे सामाजिक जागरूकता निर्माण करण्यासाठी सातत्याने पुढाकार घेतला आहे. जेणेकरून विद्यार्थी जबाबदार नागरिक बनतील, जे भारताला महासत्ता बनविण्यात योगदान देतील. अधिकाधिक लोकांनी मतदान करून भारतीय लोकशाही बळकट करण्याला हातभार लावला पाहिजे. सूर्यदत्त संस्थेतील सर्व कर्मचारी, विद्यार्थी शंभर टक्के मतदान करणार आहेत.”
गेल्या दहा वर्षांहून अधिक काळ कॉर्पोरेट ट्रेनर, मानसशास्त्र अभ्यासक म्हणून कार्यरत असलेल्या नुपूर सिंग यांनी मतदानाचे महत्व विशद करीत सर्व उपस्थितांकडून मतदान करण्याची प्रतिज्ञा वाचून घेतली. विजयदीप मुंजनकर यांनी सांगितले की, सामाजिक बदलांसाठी लोकशाहीमध्ये निवडणूक प्रक्रिया महत्वाचा घटक आहे. जबाबदार नागरिक म्हणून प्रत्येकाने मतदान करायला हवे, असेही त्यांनी नमूद केले.
सूर्यदत्त विधी महाविद्यालय, सूर्यदत्त इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ मॅनेजमेंट अँड मास कम्युनिकेशन आणि सूर्यदत्त इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ बिझनेस मॅनेजमेंट अँड टेक्नॉलॉजी यासह वैद्यकीय, वाणिज्य, औषधनिर्माण, कला, विज्ञान, हॉटेल मॅनेजमेंट, सायबर सिक्युरिटी आदी विद्याशाखांतील विद्यार्थ्यांनी कार्यक्रमात सक्रिय सहभाग घेतला. विद्यार्थ्यांनी मतदानाच्या महत्त्वाबाबत जनजागृती करण्यासाठी पोस्टर्स आणि फलकही तयार केले होते. ग्रिष्म सुराणा आणि आख्या उपमन्यु या विद्यार्थ्यांनी सूत्रसंचालन केले. प्रा. सुनील धनगर यांनी आभार मानले.

Suryadatta Students Enlightened by Interactive Session with Former Chief Election Commissioner Mr. T. S. Krishnamurthy
Students of Suryadatta Law College and Suryadatta International Institute of Cyber Security were enlightened during an interactive session with T. S. Krishnamurthy, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India.
Suryadatta successfully organised a highly enriching interactive session with T. S. Krishnamurthy, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India, on 8th February at the Suryadatta Bavdhan Campus.
Held at the Aiyangar Hall, the session offered students a rare opportunity to gain first-hand insights into India’s democratic and electoral framework from one of the key architects of the modern electoral system. Mr. Krishnamurthy, the 13th Chief Election Commissioner of India, is widely respected for his leadership during the historic 2004 Lok Sabha Elections and for the nationwide implementation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
Addressing students and faculty, Mr. Krishnamurthy spoke on the constitutional independence of the Election Commission of India, electoral reforms, challenges in election management, voter registration, EVMs, VVPAT, Model Code of Conduct, electoral funding, and the concept of One Nation, One Election. He emphasized the importance of integrity, transparency, and lifelong learning, inspiring students to remain intellectually curious and socially responsible.
The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, reflecting the students’ deep understanding of democratic processes. Mr. Krishnamurthy also presented copies of his latest book to the Suryadatta Law College Library and to Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President & Chairman, Suryadatta Education Foundation.
The programme was graced by principals, faculty members, and over 150 students from Suryadatta Law College and Suryadatta International Institute of Cyber Security, making it a memorable and impactful academic experience.
Students of Suryadatta Law College recently visited the District Jail, Pune, as part of an experiential learning initiative aimed at bridging theoretical knowledge of Criminal Law with real-world practice.
Around 80 law students participated in this educational visit, gaining first-hand exposure to prison administration, inmate classification, rehabilitation programs, and the practical functioning of the criminal justice system.
The visit highlighted key concepts such as reformative justice, parole, furlough, remission, and the balance between security and human rights.
Interactions with jail authorities helped students understand the humane and corrective role of modern prisons beyond punishment.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President & Chairman of Suryadatta Education Foundation, emphasized that such field visits foster social awareness, ethical values, and responsible legal thinking among future lawyers.
The initiative was appreciated by faculty members and students alike for providing deep insights into the human aspects of law and justice.
